Oxygen rich water and a healthy pond. In order to obtain a proper biological environment in which fish and plants can thrive, it is necessary for many garden ponds to install an aeration facility in the water. This is especially necessary in the summer months when the water temperature will rise, a lack of oxygen often occurs and therefore the fish will swim to the surface to gasp for air. In the winter months the pond will freeze over, fish mortality often occurs. Aeration of the water brings relief and it provides oxygen to the water, removes harmful gasses and will prevent the pond from becoming completly frozen all over.
